We’re excited to announce that Taxback International is becoming Fintua! This transformation marks a significant milestone in our journey as we continue to expand our capabilities, innovate, and redefine how businesses manage their indirect tax operations.

Why Are We Rebranding?

Rebranding isn’t just about changing our name; it’s about reflecting who we are today and where we’re headed in the future. While the name “Taxback International” has served us well and will be remembered fondly, it no longer fully captures the breadth of solutions we offer or the vision we have for the future.

When we started 25 years ago, our focus was VAT reclaim, so ‘Taxback International’ made perfect sense and laid the foundations for a successful global company. But we have never been complacent; since 2020, we have rapidly evolved to meet the digital transformation that we recognised was happening in our industry. We are now a very different business in scale and scope. While our decades of VAT experience and expertise remain, our focus has broadened to include groundbreaking innovation in global VAT compliance and einvoicing, as well as continued leadership in international VAT reclaim and payments.

As a global leader in indirect tax compliance and tax technology, Fintua is committed to helping businesses navigate the complex indirect tax landscape with ease and confidence. 

The Meaning Behind Fintua

The name Fintua is more than just a rebranding effort; it’s a reflection of our values and mission. 

• “Fin” is a nod to our expertise in financial technology. It represents our commitment to innovation, forward-thinking solutions, and intuitive technology that makes a real difference to our customers as they navigate the indirect tax landscape.
• “Tua” is inspired by the Irish word “tuath,” which means “people,” “country,” or “tribe”, honouring our Irish roots. It highlights how our solutions bring together people, skills, and technology to empower our customers to stay ahead of ever-changing VAT regulations. 

Fintua represents a new chapter in our journey, signalling not just where we are now, but where we’re headed.

We are dedicated to making this transition seamless for you. From March 2025 onwards, you’ll begin to see references to Fintua across our communications and platforms as we prepare for the full rebrand launch in June 2025.
